Cultural heritage is the inheritance of a society’s past, maintained to the present day and transmitted to present generations (UNESCO 2017). The transmission of cultural heritage from individual to individual and from generation to generation is accompanied by its constant modification. These transformations leave their traces, generating an evolutionary nature that is perceptible.

Global Perspective

We are specialized in the analysis of historical architecture, where we chain activities in a coordinated workflow with three main objectives: research and restoration of historic buildings and the dissemination of cultural heritage.

Architectural surveys

The graphic documentation of the historic buildings is both a first step in the analysis and the graphic basis for further work.

Different types of techniques are combined (topography, laser scanner, photogrammetry…) adapted to the resources and conditions of each case to optimize the work, in order to obtain drawn plans of the buildings.

3D models
and HBIM

From the architectural survey it is possible to build 3D digital models (point clouds, meshes, parametric models…) with different types of finishing and visualization depending on the needs and available resources.

In addition, thanks to the BIM methodology it is possible to implement parameters and manage information on the models of these historic buildings (HBIM), cooperating in future conservation and maintenance work.

Archaeology of Architecture

The application of this methodology reveals the sequence of transformations that defines the current state of the historic buildings, rigorously highlighting the elements that have been preserved from the original construction.

It is a working formula that combines stratigraphic, configurational, typological, historical and laboratory analyses that help us to deepen our knowledge of the evolutionary nature of heritage.

Archaeological Excavations

The stratigraphic excavation of the sites occupied by mankind allows us to reconstruct its history. This requires rigorous analysis and documentation of the archaeological record.

Excavation can be carried out both in large open areas and inside built spaces, thus completing the results of architectural archaeology.

Structural and pathological studies

The analysis of building structures integrated in the framework of their sequence of transformations allows us to better understand the causes and evolution of pathological processes.

This makes it possible to determine a more rigorous diagnosis and propose actions tailored to the needs and resources available in each case.

Interdisciplinary Character

Our project is formed by professionals with different backgrounds, which allows us an interdisciplinary and enriching analysis of each object of study from complementary points of view, where we chain activities in a coordinated workflow with three main objectives: research and restoration of historic buildings and the dissemination of cultural heritage.
